A clear path




Maybe you are more stressed than usual? Do you make more trading mistakes? Feel exhausted, irritated, frustrated, in general, just more emotional?

Has your trading performance gone down over a larger sample size, and you can't put your finger on what the cause might be?

If so, the following could be considered.

We live in times of a greater rate of change than usual. This means a faster pace for decision-making in nearly all aspects of your life.

Your body might interpret this different lifestyle as one of stress.

In addition, circumstances out of your control have impacted your existence significantly.

COVID and inflation come to mind, but depending on where you live, this list could be very long and impactful.

With these disruptions in place, it would be no surprise that keeping counterintuitive behaviors in place for proper execution procedures might be more cumbersome than usual.

How can a professional trader still go about his/her business for peak performance?

House cleaning:

You are a trader and, as such, live a highly self-reflective life necessary to have self-control over your split-second decision-making processes.

A stress-increased environment might have a much more significant impact on typical job-holding people.

The Dalai Lama put it best: "When we care for others, we manifest an inner strength despite any difficulties we face."

Yet you can't give away what you do not have. As such, this might be a time when you at least want to temporarily cut relationships that are aggravating or otherwise harmful impactful until there is more room for such draining circumstances again.

Hearing is your most precise sense, and it relieves a great deal of stress sleeping with earplugs.

Turn off your notifications on your phone. Consistent triggers are added data evaluations, in this case, primarily entertaining, that should be avoided to minimize data flow.

Extend this thought to all internet stimulation.

Expand your computer screens so you do not have to switch between workspaces but have a quiet and consistent data representation. (representation equals psychology)

You are what you eat. Do not eat hastily, standing, or in any way debilitating to a proper digestive mechanism, and consider cleanses or fasts. In any case nourish yourself wholesome and aware.

These are a few isolated examples of how to react to a world that has brought challenges before our feet that might impact our work performance.

This isn't business as usual, and there might be much more disruptive manure down the road, cleaning the house in an anticipatory fashion could be helpful to meet challenges arising prepared.
