Trade like a pilot

I would like you to watch the following video of a plane landing in LA, and contemplate the millions of things to go right for it to be a smooth landing.

Imagine all the hopes and fears and mixed emotions of all the passengers...

Imagine all the work of building this plane and maintaining it...

Imagine all the obstacles of air traffic and weather and endless moving parts within and outside of the plane

And see yourself as the pilot and his/her responsibility to land the plane safe

and the certainty the pilot gains from following preset scripted mechanisms of rules and execution protocols to make each landing as smooth as possible and to ensure the safety of his own and his family, the passengers and their families

facing the uncertainties of the future by merely having a detailed plan and following that plan to the T

Listen to the congruent noise of speed consistency of the turbines

gain a feeling of safety and a knowing that if you are doing exactly what you know to be the right course of action to not deviate from your flight plan

and hold steady to the sequence of a safe landing enjoying the uneventfulness of a repeated process that ensures the benefit to all participating in your journey and tasks at hand
